Verifying Downloads

The downloads page now has a link to a file listing the SHA256 hashes for all download files

The long hash strings in that file can be used to confirm that the file you download is not truncated, incomplete or altered.

On Linux and Mac

1. open a Terminal window
2. navigate to the folder containing the file you downloaded ( cd "path/to/file" )
3. sha256sum "filename"

On Windows,

1. open a cmd window
2. navigate to the folder containing the file you downloaded ( cd "path/to/file" )
3. certUtil -hashfile "filename" SHA256

If the downloaded file is not corrupted, the long hash string printed by these tools will match the one listed for that file in the link at the top of our downloads page.
